In search of Mt Jefferson

We visited with friends, Chris and Tobin out in Driggs Idaho. We met them last year and can now stay with them in the newly designed basement apartment -- with free (natural, subterranean) air conditioning.

Tobin had taken some time off from fighting forest fires near Jackson Hole, so we let him decide what he wanted to do... and the reply was "let's take a look at Mt Jefferson up in Island Park" -- sure. Off we go -- the good news was that the trailhead was at 9000' - meaning not a lot of elevation gain to hike.  Whatever it is, it will be an adventure.

It turned out to be a very nice hike since it was "mostly" level -- not a ton of elevation gain. Good choice Tobin!

Here are some shots of the hike.

The goal: Mt Jefferson found -- and a plan set for a future attempt to the summit. Looks like a ridge runner effort
